Frequently asked questions
1. What kind of guarantee is it?
Answer: It's about the best guarantee that you will find on a livewell pump timer 1 Year unconditional with a Full 30 days unconditional warranty, if you're not happy with it return it and I'll refund your money. If it does not work return in within 1 year and I will replace or fix it (my option). If you break open the timer box this voids the warranty AND YOU HAVE A NICE BLACK BOX IS SOME ELECTRONIC STUFF IN IT! Be very careful about your wiring. I can look at the electronics and tell when it has been incorrectly wired. So if you wire it up wrong just be honest, I'll probably fix it for only a small charge.
2. I don't want to cut another hole in the dash console of my boat, Can I use this timer with an existing dash Switch.
Answer: Yes, you can install the timer using an existing three way switch, Your switch probably has a manual/ off /automatic position. It must have a center off position. Just use the switch supplied with the timer and connect the wires that come from the existing switch to the box. There nothing secert about my switches. See wiring diagram #2
3. My boat only has a On/Off switch. but I want to use the manual / automatic features of the timer.
Answer: You can install the timer in parallel with the existing switch. Just connect the power wire from the existing switch to the center position of the switch, I provide with the timer. Install the three way switch somewhere under the console, that will be easily accessible. You will probably only run the timer a few minutes in the manual position to fill your livewell and after that you will switch it to automatic.
4. I have an existing timer that doesn't work any more (most don't) but I have a Ranger, Skeeter, Cajun, Gambler, etc, and I want to connect the Stay-Alive timer to the existing wiring harness. I want my boat to look original. How can I do this?
Answer:Simple, Trace out the wires that go
to your timer, switch and pump, draw it up and (e)mail it to me and I will provide a
interface drawing for you boat. Why do I provide this service. 1.Simple, I want to
sell timers (go figure). 2. If you provide me with the wiring diagram of a boat that
I have not interfaced with then this allow me to provide this service to others and
I will probably sell more timers this way and you have helped me and I thank you.
5. I don't have a console in
my boat, but I would like to have a timer! Answer: This is not a problem,
you can install Stay-Alive just about anywhere. Under the seat! Put some
quick disconnect plugs on the wiring and just plug it in when you go fishing
and afterwards just disconnect it and put it in your tacklebox and it's
ready for the next trip. 6. Is Stay-Alive waterproof?
Answer: No, Not Waterproof, water
resistance YES! I would venture to say very few things are totally waterproof.
You should install Stay-Alive timers in a place that is not exposed to
the direct weather (i.e. Direct RAIN, splashing Waves!) 7. Bass-Pro shop has a livewell
pump timer for sale, why would I buy a Stay-Alive livewell pump timer?. But Read the ad for their timers,
closely, "requires drilling and cutting a 1 7/8" x 2 -5/8"
hole in your boat". Think about it, once you cut
the hole you are stuck using their timers forever. I don't know about you
but I ain't cutting a hole that size in my boat. With Stay-Alive timers, you use
1/2" diameter holes that are used for switches. If my switch or dial
fails, you can run down to Radio Shack and buy another and you are back
in operation or I'll replace them if warranty applies. 8. Is Stay-Alive manufactured
by a small company? Answer: You better believe it's
small. I don't have anyone to yell "I'm quitting", that's how
small we are. I even have to do the web page stuff, too! But it's good
for you. I make and test every timer personally, I don't mass produce them and I give you my word
that each timer is 100% ready and constructed out of the same parts, in
the same manner and tested by me personally before I ship it to you. 9. I send my money but when do I get my timer?
Answer: I will always email you when your order arrives. I have a policy that works well. I don't cash
your check or money order until your timer has been mailed. It's kind of a policy
that I have. The money is not mine until your timer is mailed. Pretty good policy I think! Your timer
will be shipped within 2 or 3 days max.
10. I live in Canada or other
places, not in the USA. Can I still buy a timer? Answer: Yes you can. I will ship
to ANY address. One of the problems that I have with out of country
orders is payment. I require that payment must be in US dollars drawn on a
US bank, or you can send international postal money orders in US dollars 11. Do Orders outside the USA
cost any more? Answer: usually only $1.00 more
for shipping. I pay all shipping cost inside the USA. But sometimes the
shipping can get crazy. I will only charge you for the different in shipping
cost. If you email me your address prior to ordering, I can get the actually
shipping charge and email you with the total charges. I have shipped to
Sweden, Australia, Canada and the Caribbean. 12. If I send my money, will
I get a timer and not get RIPPED OFF. Answer: I have never cheated
anyone out of their timer. I believe is GOD and Honesty. I am Christian!
not a "CHEAT". The Internet is a place where you can easily get
ripped off . That's why I don't accept credit cards. I don't trust the
Internet security. If you want to talk to me on the phone please call and
I will give you my home address.
